Quirky question here. I hate to throw anything out that I can fix. I have an old singer binder foot, the one with 2 upright posts, and the cone. The cone has detatched from the rest of the foot, it's a clean brake and you can see the small line where it was glued? welded? together.

My question is, is it possible to use JBWeld or something similar to put it back together, sitting exactly back where it was? Or should I just toss the thing into the trash?

I'd give it a try. It is of no use to you that way. So go for it!!!

I think the tolerances on feet are very small. I would be afraid the repaired foot would break while sewing and perhaps a part would fly off and damage something (or someone) else. I don't know of any sewing machine repair person who would weld a foot. Also, a foot does not contribute much to a landfill.

Don't know... apparently just knocking around in an old box with 6 other feet made it do so.

Well... Just a thought. I'll hold onto it for a while and see if I can't think of something to do with it.
