Our quilt club had Ricky Tims this last Saturday. It was wonderful. I learned so much and he is very entertaining and he makes his seminars a lot of fun and full of information. I feel like I can do his techniques and be successful at it. The concert was great. He tells stories, plays the piano and American Indian flutes and does some singing. If you ever get the chance to see him. GO. It is well worth the time, effort , and cost.

I love his version of making flying gueese really easy. I have watched some of his tutorials and he is very gifted
and makes quilting look like everyone should be doing it
to eliminate the stress in life. I would love to see him
someday as he makes things look so easy and fun.
Ricky Timms is the king.

I dont understand why people refer to the 3d flying geese as "Rickys". I took a class from Jackie Robinson many years ago with every block being a different 3d technique, including the flying geese. she said that this type of technique has been around since the 1800s. I saw it in a flannel quilt about 25 years ago and was really attracted to it. Jackie has several 3d quilt patterns on her website animasquilts.com. Ricky learned this technique while on a trip to England and decided to share it with us. I dont think he lays claim to it.
