I have always done mine that way, didn't know there was any other way to do it.

Me, too! it's one of the reasons I quit sewing and started quilting; infinitely less frustrating for me than dressmaking. It's also probably the reason I don't have many gimmicky tools for quilting, come to think of it. Ppffft! :evil: :-D

I usually use the method described in antique sewing machine books - fold the hem and tack it down at the end, maneuver the hem onto the coil, back the foot up to the tacked part of the hem, put down the presser foot and sew.

It's already easy, but this way looks even faster! :) The hemmers are my favorite tools - especially if you're hemming miles and miles of ruffles, or the edges of curtains.
