I am working on a baby quilt and have searched everywhere for a rose applique pattern. What I would like to find is a pattern for a rose in bloom. Can anyone help me? This quilt is for my first grandchild and I want it to be perfect. The fabrics in the quilt have roses in bloom.

Why don't you try broidery purse applique?
It is a technique where you buy fabric with the perfect roses you want for your quilt. Then, you cut around the roses you choose (fussy cut), leaving enough space around the rose for needle turning or applique and applique into the spaces you want the roses to be.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will keep it in mind. I do have enough fabric left over to try it.

When I learned broidery purse, the teacher used double fusible webbing to attach the cut-out to the quilt top ... if that helps any ...
I have done applique using the webbing and did a buttonhole stitch around the perimeter of the applique shape. It was easy to work the needle and thread through.
I have also used the webbing on wall hangings, and top stitched around the perimeter ... so, you see it is quite a versatile tool for the applique enthusiast.

Here is a site that has a 12 1/2" rose pattern:

It has 25 individual pieces, and I have not tackled it, but it sure looks pretty. :D

Thank you so much. I love the rose. It has many parts, I may be able to improvise and make it simpler.

your welcome, and I am glad that I saw this, bc, now, I may improvise too. twenty five pieces is a lot.
