I mentioned in a thread in which people discussed the horrible topic of cutting fingers that my two rulers have plastic guards. One of you made me come forth with info about it and, after looking all over I found this site thru Google:

I've had mine for a couple of years, at least. DH found them, bought them and makes sure I use them!!!!! They don't get in the way at all. I'm glad I've got them!!!

Have you had to replace the adhesive on your guard? I've had mine for under 6 months and the adhesive isn't sticking like it did.

I've given my rulers heavy use (one has a crack) and I'm not especially careful about where I put them as I quilt and I've never had any problem with the guards shifting or coming loose. I was very careful when I put them on. Maybe you used yours before it had a chance to set??? I don't know.

Thanks for the link. I've managed to slice myself with my cutter, so I really appreciate this.

I use them - they've worked well for me.

It's the best I have found for safety and non ruler slippage.

The first poster to say it's too expensive I say one ER bill (plus the trauma) for a bad cut is cheaper?

i've had the same plastic guard stuck on my 24 inch ruler for years. of course when i cut my thumb i was using the side without the guard!
