I have a very low boredom threshold. I wondered if rotating my WIPs/UFOs would help me get something finished. I thought of doing one block for each of 5 projects then back to the first. Anyone done this? Does it sound feasible?

Below is one of the ones I am NOT enjoying working on!

Edited to add - 11 blocks done, 13 to go. It WILL get done eventually but I am not enjoying matching all those points.

I have the habit of working on one project for days/week and then switching.
As long as you can keep them straight, and this works for you, go for it :D:D:D

I rotate all the time, but not necessarily in any order. I must have the attention span of an 8-year old, because I really like moving around between a few projects. If I'm working on one I don't like I usually force myself to finish it and get it overwith. I find then that I like it a whole lot more. In nine years of quilting I've only had one that I just sent it off to Goodwill because I couldn't stand to look at it.

right now I am 'forced' to rotate my projects. DD is getting married in April. She has requested that I do some sewing for her. Flower girl dress, OMG 5/8" seams are soo large compared to 1/4" ;) Plus she is request a few other items to sew. Quilt projects have taken a back burner.:(

buy some project sized bins.
I toss all of the fabric and pattern, cut pieces, in progress blocks and everything specific to that project in a bin. then all of the scissors, pencils, pins, and tools used for all projects in a small bin.
that way when I want to work on a certain project I grab that bin and the tool bin. and I am set to go!!!
a plastic three drawer cart works great for this also!

I totally agree. I have attention deficit disorder and get bored very easily. Most people think ADD is for children, it is usually diagnosed in children, but my diagnosis did not come until I was 44. I never knew why I get bored so easily, but now I have no problem working on two to five projects in the same week. If it works for you and you can keep all your stuff together for each project, why not?

I love that block. My mood swings like it's on a busy playground so I keep lots of projects going at once. Some I just grow tired of the pattern, the color, or whatever so I put them away. I love to be able to pick and choose from several different projects. I had a stack of baby blankets with backing all picked out to work on---all I had to do was sandwich, stitch, tie and bind. Had them in order of which ones to do first. I put three together and stitched them yesterday and none of them were on top of the stack. Do whatever works for you. Every part of making a quilt should be fun. If something starts to bore you then go to something else.

I'm with you all....my boredom factor is especially high...I'll work for awhile and then have to move onto something else just to feel my creativity.....probably why I have way more than 10 WIP. I have to say....I do tend to finish them eventually, which is good. I like the satisfaction of sewing the last stitch!
