Ruler Folded Fabric????
 

What is ruler folded fabric? I read it a post about organzing fabric, and the lady said she "ruler folded" anything from 1/2 yard to 2 yards.

how I ruler fold is:
fold my fabric WOF
them i grab my 6x24 ruler and wrap my fabric around the ruler
then WOF fold again..

i love the folded fabric when i use my 6.5x24 ruler. i have it stacked by color on shelves in the closet. it's so easy to shuffle the ends of the fabric to find the one i want.

I have mine folded like this and it stacks on edge nicely in my plastic drawer unit. I have each drawer labeled with 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 2 yard. It make it easy to look for the proper size and color I'm looking for. My only problem is that when I get out several pieces to make color decisions, I forget which goes in which drawer so have to re-measure.

I swear by ruler folded fabric. It is the best way to make it all nice and neat and fit better on the shelves or boxes or wherever you store it in. I am so glad that I took the time to make the change.

I need to organize my fabric again so will give it try.
