Ruler stabilizer
 

Did anyone else get an ad for a new product to stabilize your rulers? It looked like a foam piece that attached to the back of the ruler maybe 1/4" thick. They said it slid on the fabric when you needed it to, but when you wanted to cut, you would press down on your ruler and it would stay in place.

Of course that ad got deleted and I can't find it in the trash. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't see that one.. but I use some clear stuff... It's a clear sort-of film that you cut just slightly narrower (is that a word?) than your ruler and it just sticks on (like Saran wrap only much thicker) and it works great for me! Of course, I can't remember what it's called.... sigh....

I've seen it mentioned here on the board before... someone will know what it's called...

You can go to Missouri Star Quilt Co. and any of the other big name stores websites then in the search heading type in quilting rulers. I personally just use that non-skid shelving you can purchase at any grocery or WAlmart in the laundry section. Cheaper than the ruler.

I got them and ***LOVE*** them. They are the best thing I have found for stabilizing rulers.

I've never seen it at my Joann's but I got it at Hancock fabrics with a Joann coupon

I bought the grip strips and did not like them for one reason only - they attach to the back of the ruler and make it sit 1/4" off the fabric which made my ruler unstable or at least to me. But try them some people love them.

I use Invisagrip on the back of my rulers and I use the orange color grip strips on top of my ruler to mark my cutting line. Sometimes I use the grip strips on the back on the measurement line and then just butt it up to the fabric. I just move them to the next measurement when I need to. At my age I need all the help I can get to stay focused when cutting.....have been know to cut some pieces wrong

I use Steady Betty strips.
