I went to our local surplus store. They have terrific sales on name brand materials. Today was an extra special day for me. They had fat quarters for 75 cents each. I picked out about 16 of them, many batiks. The lady at the store said they were Wal-Mart fat quarters so I'm going to be sure and wash them to make sure they hold up before I begin sewing.
If any of you have stores like that near you keep an eye open because evidently stores are buying up Wal-Mart fabrics from stores that are doing away with the fabric department. I never shop for fabric at Wal-Mart but heck, they can be made into table runners or something. |
You can't go wrong with FQ's for 75 cents each, no matter where they're from! There's always some project that you'd rather use a lesser quality fabric on. Good find!

FYI Some JoAnne Fabric stores are also redoing their fat quarter sections and are getting rid of old stock for 50 cents a piece while quantities last.

Mardens is the best.............. and some of their stores are better than others! I love the Ellsworth store! they have much much more to choose from.

I was in one of the walmarts close to me and their fabric will be gone soon. They had it marked 1/2 off including the jelly rolls that normally sell for $20. Good luck. :D
