Scared to get started....
1 Attachment(s)
Ok I have bought the book, the ruler and most of my material for my sons tumbling block quilt. Now I just need to get started with ironing and cutting and sewing and cutting some more. But I have never done this pattern before and even though it looks easy I still am scared to get started... HELP>>>>>
The book says that I should have 12 of each shade what do you think? Can I go as is or should I get more fabric? I have a gut feeling that I will need more fabric. |
Wait before cutting look at this site. someone on here posted this the other day. go to search on the board and type
in tumbling blocks and you will find this if the link does not work. it is so so so much easier than all the angles. good luck http://www.myquiltfabric.com/pdf/Tumbling_Blocks.pdf |

I have the book ABC 3-d by Marci baker. I even bought her ruler. I love the idea of the strip pieced and would not do it if it had Y seams.
Ok I just saw that tutee and love it also. Oh what to do. Do you think it will be ok with all blues? Or should I add other colors? I just love the idea of an all blue quilt for him. |
Why don't you try a block or two and see how it goes before cutting all of your fabric? Good luck with it!

I always make a block or two before I cut all my fabric to see if I want to go with the the fabric or not. Your fabric is beautiful I hope you have very good luck with it.

Wow! The finished top on that tutorial is really beautiful! Will have to add this to the someday list....

What a great tutorial! I've always wanted to do a Tumbling Blocks but not the Y seams! One more to add to my "someday I'll have time to make it" list
