I saw a method (somewhere) where you took scrapsand just sewed them together to create a long strip which was then cut into a scrappy border. I don't remember if I saw it here or not. Can someone give me more info on it?

was it the person who sewed scraps on adding machine paper?

I don't think so. All I can remember (it's hell getting old) was that they dipped into a bag, grabbed a piece of fabric and sewed it on to the previous piece of fabric.

I did this on one of my scrappies, just lay them out in similar widths, stitched them all together, then trimmed back to the width I wanted for the sashings...have a look here:

Hey ladies thanks for a wonderful idea. I teach a lot of seniors to sew. Many of them on a limited budget, but scraps....well we all have them....and I am sure my senior students do too. I cannot wait to share this with them. Would be good on some of our chairity quilts too!
