Just wondering if anyone else sells their quilts on Etsy.com and how it works out for them. I joined and set up an account, so far am unable to load my pictures. Probably something I am missing, just not sure what. Thanks.

Never tried it. I looked but there were so many quilts listed I thought there was an overload. I am sticking to craft shows like our Market Day here and I am going to have a booth at the Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, AL next year. Maybe later on I will look at other options.

I sold my avatar baby quilt and three black-and-white pillows on etsy.com. It was an easy transaction and not much trouble to list. I just had a hard time waiting for the right buyer! There are tons of quilts on etsy; make yours unique. The words/phrases they call "tags" are of ultra importance.

I would also like to learn the trick to selling on Etsy. Ebay just doesn't seem to bring the right people in and it has so many hoops now that you have to jump thru. GOOD LUCK!!

My SIL buys lots of quilts on Etsy. There are lots of them but Etsy is a place where people come to buy hand made, not mass produced and are looking for unique items.

It may take a few months to sell but if the price is reasonable and the pictures are good - I believe they will sell.

I know several members of this board sell on Etsy and seem to do well :)

I have a small store on Etsy. I have only sold 2 things thru them but both sales went smooth with no problems. I have listed quilts but have only sold small items, burp cloths to be exact. I do not expect to get a nationwide known store, I use it to send people to locally that are interested in buying something. That way when someone says "Oh my what beautiful quilts." and then say "I would love one like that" I can send them to my store which in my head is better than going over the whole cost of a quilt with someone who is clueless.
Going to be adding some Bow Tucks this week at some point, just have to get the pictures taken.

In my head the difference between Etsy and Ebay is Etsy is a craft bazzar, we expect more and items are usually handmade. Ebay is a flea market and we expect haggling, good bargins. Both have a purpose but each brings a different mind set.

Good Luck with your store I wish you the greatest of success.

Tammy

Tammy - what is the name of your Etsy store? I would love to add it to my favorites :)

I have a few things on Etsy but I sell more quilt tops on Ebay.

Whenever I find a QB member with an Etsy shop I add them to my circle. I still don't know what that does. :?

Kris, your stuff is super cute. I have already added you to my favorites my store is PeaPodSquad. I need to get more things in my store, and like you I believe good pictures and a great product your stuff will sell.

Is that fabric from your stash or do you wholesale? If you wholesale mind sharing how you got started with that? I would love to be able to offer fabric and kits but not sure about the whole process of it.
