Hi everyone, I have a thread question. I purchased 2 bags of thread from Imaquilter last week and received it the other day. I was very pleased with the product. I ended up with a total of (37) 550 yard spools of Superior Thread (Halo) serger and decorative thread. I paid 28.95 for all of it, including shipping. I priced it on-line at 8.99 a spool which comes to $346.00 so I feel I got a great deal, thanks Imaquilter! It has a very wide opening and I'm wondering what I can do to use it as a top thread? The spool says to use it in a bobbin or a serger. It would be great for some satin stitching but the hole is too big for my thread holder and it would bounce around all over the place, any body have any ideas?

I remember seeing little plastic cone shaped thingies that you can put on your spool post.. or you can pick up one of those free standing spool holders that would sit next to your machine and the post on it is very high.

i just picked up one of those cone thread holders at Joanns. So far its working great. I used my 40% coupon so it was only about $3.00. I thought nothing to lose at that price.

There is a "gadget" for that. I have needed to purchase one, but I've been too stingy with my pennies. LOL! With all the money you saved, you could probably buy one without too much guilt.

Thank you ladies for your input! I think I like the deely bob ones. I have seen them, but didn't need them so I didn't pay much attention to them. I'm probably going to the Dallas quilt show friday and I bet they will have some there. Thanks again, there is a lot of beautiful thread and I wanted to be able to use it and not have to give it all to my mom for her serger! lol!!!!! :mrgreen:

I got some of that thread too, I put the cone on my horizontal holder and it just pulls off the end, it doesn't flop around

I purchased a metal free standing paper towel holder and cut out a small section with wire cutters on one side, curled the top end and my thread fits on the shortened post with the thread going through the curl Works great, cost me a dollar.

That sounds easy enough. could you post a picture of it and welcome to the board :D :D :D
