I'm in the process of planning out a new quilting/craft/office space in my home and I'm asking for ideas on: organization, storage, sewing/iron/cutting areas, etc... if you have any pictures you could show of your spaces, that would be great, I love ideas!

I was gifted the "s&!t" room by my boyfriend. He literally kept his junk in here and it was a MESS.

We went to ikea and got this HUGE shelving/desk combo - I love it. it is such a small room, and the last picture shows the desk in the middle of the room because of leaking celing that is in the process of repair - but because of my huge shelf I can still work!

When it was back against leaky wall #2

I moved my ironing board (and got a new machine) now the machine is up front and the ironing board is in the back. When we put the desk back against the wall I'll need to figure out another plan...

my stash in three of the teal bins... (all the teal bins on the left side are filled with fabric)

what it looks like now... (well, I organized the stash since this pic, so the shelves aren't so messy...)

I'm just being nosy....is the wine for when you have quilter's block? :-D

I'm in the process of folding my fabric on boards and I'm so tired of folding! I have three five shelf bookcases that I hope all the fabric will fit. Fabric storage is my biggest problem. I don't mine downsizing my books and magazines but not my fabric.

Go get yourself a copy of the current issue (Spring 2010) of Studios magazine. It's all about storage. Joann's has it, at least they do here.

HAHAHAHA!!! Great Idea! I'm not sure why the wine is in here and not in the kitchen, but I didn't argue.

I'm enjoying some now (that *was* in the kitchen) as I grade the papers for one of my college classes.

=)

I just couldn't resist...it was right there in plain sight, sure would help with quilter's block, but things might get a little "wonky"

Now I know what's wrong with my sewing room. The wine is downstairs!

Everyone's space is as different as they are. What size your room is, what your budget is, and what you want your end results to be are all huge considerations.

Lots of board members have posted pics of their rooms and many others have discussed storage and organization.

Here are a few of the past threads that may help you.

There is also a great book out called Creating your Perfect Quilting Space. You may be able to find it in your local library
