blue painters tape works really well too with no residue and repositions nicely - plus it is REALLY cheap!!!

I use a stack of Post-It notes for a sewing edge. A stack of 5 or 6 is thick enough to abut fabric along and keep those seams nice and even.

I use a piece of two-way sticky tape on my machine, you know the one used for sticking stuff on the wall, just make sure you put clear tape on the top portion so your hand don't get stuck. It gives you a real nice edge.

i have always used masking tape but i like the idea mama has about the painters tape never thought about that and i just had some left over from painting my dining room ( the masking tape leaves sticky mess after it gets worn out and i take it off))

thanks
