If you have a speed control on your machine, you could try putting your whole foot on the pedal, not just your toes. And take your shoe off! I usually sew shoeless, but using the whole foot I found out in the fmq book by Don Linn. He said it gives more control, and it does! Can do this on my Babylock, but not on my Kenmore. No speed control on the Kenmore.

I've got the pedal sta - but I'm on a vinyl floor using floor mats to keep the machine cabinets from digging into the floor.
One answer - Duck tape. Since I'm on a slippery plastic mat, I can tape with impunity. |
I've had the same problem and frustration for a long time and have tried everything because my foot pedal travels on the hardwood floor. I bought this today at Target (on sale) and so far so good. It's textured enough on the top that the pedal stays put and the mat doesn't slide.

I use a rubber mesh that comes on a roll and you can cut it the size you need. Doesn't solve the whole problem of slipping foot pedal but it does help some.
