I know that Janome makes a good machine - what has anyone heard of this model?

I'm not familiar with this model but at $100, this is not an expensive machine and it sounds as if it has done very little work. I think it would be a great back-up machine and you may like it so well that it will be your main machine.

It's a good price and it is a Janome. I would try it first and make it sews properly.

I would try any machine before buying it - and if it works like most Janomes, it will be a really good investment. I did a search and found a couple of recommendations for the machine. Only comment is that it is a basic machine with a minimal amount of decorative stitches. Great for primary or backup machine.

(One suggestion, take a few samples of the types of fabric and projects you want to work on to test with.)

I agree it is high. Its manual and I searched online and all I see is problems with the machine. If you do decide bring some fabric and thread and test it out.

I had this machine in my classroom, ran beautifully, no problems with it. I paid $100 for it. Be sure you get the manual though because if memory serves, this machine threads from left to right vs. right to left. So you want to be sure you are threading it correctly.

This machine looks very much like my first Janome.
Yes, it is manual but ran & still does run good. I did alot of sewing on it and still take it to class. Mine has never needed to go in for repair but I have always tried to keep it cleaned and oiled.
I now also have a computerized Janome. I think they are hard working machines if treated right.
Most brand new manual sewing machines run not too much more than this one is priced.
I would probably save my money and and buy a new one that has a warranty on it.
