Hi I am new to this website and relatively new to quilting. I have found a pattern with shadow applique, can someone explain to me what that is . I am concerned that it is above my skill level. I've been trying to quilt for a few years now, I still only dare to stitch in the ditch and around applique, but ti has become my lifeline to sanity. Nothing has been more fun ( and frustrating) I learn a lot from your postings. Thanks, jfowles

Basically it's putting organza (or some other transparent fabric) on top of your completed applique and then sewing it down using an outline stitch. There are a few tutorials online:

Here's a book devoted to shadow applique:

Welcome, but I don't know what that is either. If I say a pic I could figure it out.

Hi, and welcome from Bakersfield, CA. Don't know that technique, either. Would like to see a pic, please if anyone has one.

I don't think I have ever seen any shadow applique, but have seen shadow embroidery. I, too, would like to see a picture of shadow applique.
