The last time I was in Joann Fabrics, I noticed that their usual sign for scissor sharpening had been changed to include rotary blades. The date was a few days away, and I didn't get there to see what was being done. Also, there was no price mentioned for any of the services.

Anybody ever have their blades sharpened at Joann's?

I never knew they offered it.

I don't thinks it is actually a Joann's service. Some stores have a local sharpener come in on a scheduled basis, but many do not. Since it's a local service, it all depends on the skill of the local sharpener. Your mileage may vary...

I sharpen my own blades with an electric sharpener. Never knew they teamed up like that with local people, that's neat!

I bought a ruler (Sullivan, The Cutting Edge) which has a strip of sharpening stuff on one end - so far it really seems to sharpen my blades.

I plan to send my Gingher scissors to Gingher to be sharpened. They do it for $7.50. Have any of you sent yours to Gingher? Were you satisfied with the results?
