shophop has me frustrated this month

i am so frustrated with the fabshophop this month-
i have all but 3 shops bunnies located-and those 3----man, i've spent 1/2 an hour to an hour on each one clicking on link after link with no luck...
gateway quilts gave a clue of 'love the smell of jasmine'= i found plenty of jasmine links---but no bunnie----
peggy annes and sew-sisters----they just....oh i'm to the point that i don't think the bunnies are even there---sew-sisters i found an april bunny but no march bunny---
gosh- i'm so 'over it!'
with less than a week to go---ugh!
anyone else sharing my problems? or is it just me???

one-and-only 03-24-2012 04:09 PM

Did you find them yet?

serenitybygrace 03-24-2012 04:24 PM

Yes, I have two shops where I have not been able to find the bunny. Sorry, right now I can't remember which ones. I did write them down...somewhere. One is Common Threads, I can't find the other. I have also clicked on and looked at every section I can click on those two shops. Yes, it is very frustrating!!! I wonder if it is their way of cutting down the people who are eligible for the drawings??

Sadiemae 03-24-2012 04:29 PM

Gateway quilts, It is Jasmine in the Quilt Kits. I went tot The Full Product List page, scrolled to Quilts Kits and clicked on Jasmine.

Sadiemae 03-24-2012 04:33 PM

peggy annes is on the $5 block of Month page.

kayahr 03-24-2012 04:39 PM

I do "hate" that website. It goes around in circles. I did find the bunny. Let's see if I can replicate my steps. . . . OH WOW! Maybe she got some complaints. A couple of lines under her FabShop Hop orange bunny graphic on the home page is this line

NEWEST KIT-FREE MAGAZINE AND PATTERN: JASMINE. Check it out Jasmine.

Click on the second Jasmine in that line and suddenly there it is. I do dread going to this website every time it is in a hop.

Sadiemae 03-24-2012 04:41 PM

sew-sisters, is on the Quilt Books page.

Rubesgirl 03-24-2012 04:46 PM

I can't find the time to look for all the bunnies! I would rather be sewing than looking at all those sites on the computer. :-s

KSellers 03-24-2012 07:32 PM

I've found all but Thousands of Bolts fabrics, and I bet I've spent at least 2 hours looking!

LadyElisabeth 03-24-2012 08:12 PM

Thanks for the hints. I agree some of the sites just go around in circles and others I think I looked at EVERY link on their page and never did find the March bunny.

Did you look on the Video Tutorial page from the popup menu for About Our Site?

I won a Brother 1500 quilting machine finding the bunnies back when the prizes were new machines. I got a call that informed me I won, the machine was shipped to me. Simple and honest. It's worth the effort to play.

willferg 03-25-2012 07:28 AM

When I first started the Fabric Hop, there were three. Annilee's Treasure Hunt and another one that featured a worm, I think. I liked those two better because there were fewer shops! I think 100 is about the max I would ever want to find, and I believe the Fabric Hop is past that now, since it's the main player these days. I enjoyed seeing new fabric and learning about new shops, but after 100 sites and getting frustrated over the ones that hide the bunny too well, I quit. I wish they did them more frequently with fewer shops...and more chances to win!

Baysidegal 03-25-2012 07:40 AM

I've won a lot of $10 GCs from various shops over the years. I recently one a second prize and received some nice fabric. I try not to do the hop every month. I always wander over to every store's clearance section and end up spending more money than I need to. Lord knows, my stash is big enough, BUT....

dunster 03-25-2012 08:11 AM

I've never done any of these contests. Where do you find the rules? How many of them are there? Like I need to spend more time at the computer!

davis2se 03-25-2012 08:28 AM

I'm getting really frustrated with the shop hops, not because I can't find the bunnies, but because the free quilt blocks keep "moving" around. I don't know about the rest of you, but I just barely can find the time to do the shop hop in the first place, and I surely don't have time to go back and check already visited (and bunny found) shops to try and get the blocks I'm missing. When they first started moving the free blocks around you were able to get the full quilt pattern with all blocks and setting instructions if you found even just one of the block patterns. That did not stop me from completing the full shop hop, but the "moving" blocks will. I'm wondering if anyone else shares my frustration with this issue??

yngldy 03-25-2012 10:48 AM

I could not find Quilters Corner or Craft Connection. I think you only need to find 140 shops to be eligible for the prizes this time. Check the rules. Sometimes, only when they have a bonus prize, do you need to find ALL of them. I haven't won anything from them in quite a few years. Won some fabric, and a few $10 certificates. Each month I see one, I think "I'm not going to do it this time", but then I like the pattern you get when you hop, and then there is the thought that I have been doing it for so many years, I might miss something!!

KSellers 03-25-2012 12:32 PM

Thanks so much!! I found it.

Quilters Corner has a link on the home page for the BOM page with the bunny.

Craft Connection has a link above the bunny on the homepage which will take you to the fabrics page. Scroll down below all of the fabrics and you will find the bunny.

There have been a couple of time that I actually wrote the shop and complained about their "hints" when they were impossible to find. They usually responded with the bunny trail or location or actually fixed it when it was missing. I don't hop anymore either. I would rather be sewing.

rob529 03-26-2012 04:54 AM

I absolutely agree. I've won $10 gift certificate 3 times and a $100 one time.

This remark is in regards to "the hopping is worth it" post. I didn't get it attached.

rob529 03-26-2012 05:18 AM

I'm getting really frustrated with the shop hops, not because I can't find the bunnies, but because the free quilt blocks keep "moving" around.

If you go to the shops visited page they are listed there next to the names of the shops.

Can I ask a stupid question? What is it that you can win, that is worth so much of your time searching online for bunnies?

paoberle 03-26-2012 06:25 AM

I hate those shops that make the bunny difficult to find. I let them know that it influences whether or not I may buy from them in the future. The rules state that the bunny should be only one or two clicks from the home page.

Yes, responding to the individual shop does get results.

Wonnie 03-26-2012 06:36 AM

Use to enjoy doing the "ShopHop" and did find some shops that I ordered from but, after picking up two nasty virus's that crashed my computer, not once, but twice, it became just too expensive.

jmabby 03-26-2012 06:40 AM

I don't spend my time looking for bunnies. I'm retired and bunnies move too fast for me!!

I hate hate hate Thousands of Bolts!!!! I refuse to even go to their site.

StarofMoonDancer 03-26-2012 06:55 AM

Do as I did and call them and tell them you are having a problem and see if they help. Sometimes it is a glitch on there end. Good luck. :)

katkat1946 03-26-2012 08:53 AM

I understand your frustration. I just saw a note on MaryAnne Elizabeth's site that some browsers block you from seeing the bunny; to try using internet explorer or mozilla firefox. I will say that I use Explorer and have not always found the bunnies but I also simply give up! Maybe this will help some people.
Pat

katkat1946 03-27-2012 05:11 AM

Sorry to hear that - I've shopped at Thousand of Bolts A LOT and have always had great shopping experiences. (I don't work for them in any capacity - just like their choices and prices and service)

On the home page, right below the bunny it says Register To Win which takes you to the Newsletter signup page and the bunny.

jcrow 03-27-2012 09:18 AM

I tried to Shop Hop online one month only and saw how much time was going to be involved and quit after only about 20 sites. I, too, would rather be quilting or reading QB.

QKO 03-27-2012 01:05 PM

The Fabshophop rules for shops state that all bunnies must be no more than one click away from the home page, and pretty much all of them are.

If you can't find a bunny in a very reasonable amount of time, don't hesitate to call or email the shop -- the rules for shops also state that the shop home page should have contact information on it.

quilt addict 03-27-2012 01:39 PM

Every month I say I am not going to hop but end up doing it anyway. I was better this month about not wondering off and buying fabric, but that is why these shops participate to get customers.

It has gotten way big. I always read the rules of how many bunnies are required for the various prize levels. This month for the grand prize you needed to find 140. I did want the block patterns, so it is a double edged sword. I have never won anything though.

mzzzquilts 03-28-2012 05:26 PM

My downfall this month is Purple Moose Designs, " bunny found a friend on the table"? HELP! :)
