I was at every thrift shop in town today, and I keep my eye peeled for machines. I only saw one, a Singer 66 treadle machine in the table, with all those cute little drawers. Very good condition, except a lot of scratching on the upper body near the needle end. It almost looked like someone took pins to it. I have no idea what that was about. But someone had added a motor, so it was electric.

All this for $195.00 . Is that a decent price? Nothing in Naples is cheap, so that's probably as good as it gets.

No, I don't have a picture. I have no clue how to take one on my cell phone.

If you mean that the scratches are on the machine in kind of to the left of the center of the top, often women pinned fabric around the machine there and used it as a pincushion.

Around here that would be a good price. I have found very few treadles. I bought one for about $150 and was happy to find it.

You see them advertised here in Oregon for around $150 sometimes, so perhaps that price is what you can expect in your area. Don't know about motorized in a treadle base. I would probably return it to treadle status, but that is just me.

Here in NY and New England area that's a high price...Seen them as low as 45.00...Diff would not pay more then 100.

thats a high price around here - that is what a featherweight would go for here. treadles are less then $100.

also this has been modified from its original state (from treadle to electric) and that would make the machine worth less money in my area.

If the treadle base is intact, the foot pedal and flywheel still there, then it is a good machine because you can use it either way. It only takes a second to detach the motor if you want to use it as a treadle, so you have the best of both choices. Ask to try it out!
