Metal shuttle bobbins.
Singer 127 Singer 127-12 Singer 127-3 Vibrating Shuttle Singer 128 Singer 128-12 Singer 128-13 Singer 128-18 Singer 128-23 Singer 128-3 Vibrating Shuttle Singer 128-8 Singer 128k Singer 27 Vibrating Shuttle Singer 28 Vibrating Shuttle and more! Would any of these shuttle bobbins fit this machine? How do I know what size I need?

The modern repro bobbins will work on your machine, but you will have to guide the thread by hand as you wind the bobbin.

The modern repros are about 3/32" too short for the bobbin winder to fill the bobbin evenly from end to end - you usually end up with a "dog-bone" effect, with the ends being filled and the middle half full.

Guiding the thread onto the bobbin while you treadle isn't difficult though. Jenny at sew-classic carries them: http://shop.sew-classic.com/Shuttle-...k-SCBN8228.htm



I've had the best luck finding vintage bobbins on eBay.

I didn't know that! I have a 15 treadle, 3/4 size. It works like a charm.

Maybe I didn't write that very clearly - I hope I didn't somehow mislead you.

It's the treadle cabinet made for 3/4 sized machines (like the 28/128 & 99) that is hard to find.

If you have a 15, that's a standard size machine.

But, if you have a 3/4 sized Singer treadle machine, it's a either a 28/128 or a 99. :)
