Singer Sewing Machine

Hi, everyone I am planning on buying myself new Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 this weekend or sending for it from sewingmachinesplus.com since I want the extra accessories. Does anyone on board have one and if so how do you like yours? Tks. Not sure I am posting right since I don't do it much, so excuse my mistakes.

I don't have one. Just make sure it is all metal. If not I wouldn't get it.

Personally I wouldn't buy any Singer newer than the early 60's, so I'm afraid I'm not any help to you.

I do not have it either, but I agree with the above posts.. I would not even consider buying the newer singer machines! I have all brother machines!

Did you see this price? http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewi...130501215831:s My very first sewing machine was a Singer and I had it for almost 20 yrs. I loved it. But now I have three machines and they are all Brothers My fourth is a 1928 vintage Singer which I am thrilled to own.

I had an old Singer from the 1960s or early 1970s and it had plastic parts inside and those parts wore out.

I have lots of Singers both old and new and have never had trouble from any of them. I have not needed to send them out for repair nor do I send them out for yearly check ups--just keep them cleaned and oiled. I don't have that particular model.

I do have one My husband bought it for me at Christmas and Im in disagreement with others I love my machine I think its wonderful and have no complaints I have done lots with it from crafts to quilts to free motion quilting and I think it is a great machine for the money I cant compare with other machines that are thousand dollar machines but I had done alot of research and you just have to find one that suits your needs I think you would be happy with it and if you read the reviews alot of other people are to.

I have always had Singers just like my mom did, and I love them. The one Brother machine I had was a lemon from day 1.
Sorry, don't have the machine you are asking about, but I would read any reviews that I could find. That may help you. Gina

I may be off the mark but I believe when SVP holdings acquired Viking and Pfaff, along with the Singer name the quality of the Singer machines improved. If you look at certain Pfaff mid-range models and compare them side by side with the Singer mid-range to top of the line machines, you'll see some identical features, even machines. Singer even has one now with a built in walking foot.
In this day and age, the company isn't going to run 3 completely different assembly lines for all machines. There is bound to be crossover in features other than the top of the line machines. The great thing about it is that what is top of the line today on Pfaff and Viking will eventually be available on some Singer machines due to the trickle down effect.
