Sizziz vs AccuQuilt Go
 

I have been playing with buying a die cutter. Can anyone give me some pros and cons about these two machines. They both cut fabric. They both have alot of dies available. But the Sizzix is alot
less expensive that the AccuQuilt Go. The dies cost less too. Why would that be?? Is there something the Sizzix can't do that the AccuQuilt Go does or visa versa? According to Jenny at MSQC in her last video for the Cherrio quilt the Sizzix will cut up to 10 layers of fabric. I guess what I am asking is of anyone who has or has used either or both machines, why would I buy one over the other? Also I read about the Sizzix that it will use other dies from different systems. Will it also use the dies from the AccuQuilt system?

I have the go and it is really great. Never used a Suzzix but I am sure it also is very nice.

I think it had a better selection of quilting dies I wanted plus custom dies
I ordered online from a quilt shop I found with google. Paid less than ordering thru mfg website

I bought the Go and it was okay but I wasn't happy with how limiting it is, and I had trouble turning the crank. I sold it and bought the Sizzix Big Shot Pro and am in LOVE with it. It's so much easier to use and takes any Go dies PLUS any Sizzix dies and most Studio dies. One that I really wanted was the 10" square but the Go isn't big enough to take a 10" die (I think the bed is only 10" so the biggest is probably 8"?). The sizzix is, however, quite a bit more expensive and does not fold up so it takes up a lot of permanent real estate. Oh and it weighs about 50 lbs. Sizzix just had a 75% off sale and I got 5 dies for less than the price of one at retail.

Whatever die cut machine you buy you will have to spend money for dies, mats, etc. I have used or seen demoed about every die cut machine there is including the big industrial die cut presses (those will make any quilter swoon). I chose the Go and I'm happy with it. My friend has the Sizzix and is happy with it. We don't exchange dies though because there seems to us different pressure from each machine.

Get the sizzix big shot pro. It is sturdier than the go and you can use all of the go dies. I just have the small big shot and I love mine. you can use some of the go dies but not many because they are wider. you cannot use any of the sizzix dies in the go because they are taller than the go dies. The go has alot of problems with their handles breaking and needing to be replaced. I have not seen this with the sizzix. The go is portable, however the sizix does not fold up, but these machines are not ones I would carry around anyway. I don't have the room for the big shor pro yet but when I do thats what I am getting. I just wish joanns would get on board with selling the quilting dies of sizzix they are really missing out on a big market. I have emailed them about it but still only the scrapbooking dies that can be used for applique.

I have the go and am having trouble cranking it. I wonder if the big shot pro is easier to turn than the go.

I have a GO and am pleased with it but I think if it were to break I might consider replacing it with the Sizzix because of it does cut more layers at one time and the cost of the dies seems to be more reasonable. But, I would look into it more thoroughly if that time came. I have quite a collection of GO dies and I do understand they can be used on the Sizzix with some sort of adapter. I guess the only drawback I see is the fact that the big shot pro is similar to the Accuut Studio, meaning it is a stand alone and must have a dedicated place...whereas the GO is portable..oh well just thinking out loud....
