Slider for machine quilting

Does anyone have any ideas for making a slider to fit on my machine bed for machine quilting? I've seen them in magazines but I'd rather make my own-ok I'm frugal (cheap!) Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet but just got a silicone sheet made to put in the bottom of an oven to keep it clean. It's large and I need to make a hole for the needle.

There was a post here I just saw, where someone used the slick backing paper from contact shelf paper - the stuff you peel off and usually throw away when you are putting new shelf paper in. They used painter's tape to stick it to the sewing machine/table, and suggested maybe sewing regular paper to the edges before taping down to make it easier to stick the tape to. Sounds pretty frugal to me! If I can find the link and post it, I will do so, but this techie stuff is not my strength!

I have the clear vinyl from Joann's on my desk top. It makes it move easier. I do not have my machine set in, but have heard that wax on machine bed helps to keep it from grabbing.

If you have a Aldis near you they have the silicone sheets for ovens for approx. $6. I bought one but haven't made a hole in it yet to try. I have to figure out the size of hole I need.

I have a supreme slider that I thought was a little bit expensive but I absolutely love it. I hate to FMQ without it. I have tried other things nothing worked as well. My sister borrowed mine to try it and immediatly bought one.
