Smart-ease flying geese
 

I ordered this packet of smart-ease flying geese 4" - it is a fusible interfacing that allows you to make a row a flying geese all at once. Problem I am having - I don't understand how to use it. Has anyone else used this and you could post pics of how to do it. I have studied the directions with the pics but it doesn't make sense to me. Help....

I just studied the instructions and now I am confused, what dot? Silly me I never thought flying geese were so trouble some. I always have a gaggle in my scraps and left overs, they are very handy and they don't eat much.

try this method sometime. You can make any size you like by just doing a TITCH of math. They are fun and I have found them accurate.

Thanks everyone for the replies - I know there are a million ways to do flying geese and I have used these techniques but this stuff I bought is fusible interfacing with lines marked on it - its supposed to make it easier (if you can figure it out) but the directions are a little vague - at least for me. Hopefully someone else has used it and will point me in the right direction.

I have been looking at the tips page and I don't think its a continuous strip. I think you get geese you have to piece together. If you look at the set of pictures (5 in a row)..the 2nd from the right: it says: cut stitching to stitching. And on the last picture on the right it says the same thing on the other side. Seems like its very similar to paper piecing, but you are sewing on fusible that won't be removed. If you look at the last picture on the right? You can see the cut edges on the bottom of the top couple of geese. I cannot get the pictures larger, but I think that is right. Hope this helps!

I think I got it figured out, but only after looking at the pictures after the instructions. I think that the cut is between the goose units, but only the sky fabric is cut, not the interfacing. After the sky pieces are press up, then you would fold and sew horizontally to complete the strip of geese. |We are only seeing the tips here, not the original instructions.

This seems likely, it really helps to get all this input - its like the puzzle is starting to come together - the instructions are exactly as the tips on that web page - there are a few more pics - but they did not help me at all. I am thinking that it would be easier to do flying geese another way - I just wanted to try this and see - I will let you all know.
