when ever i vacuum my buddie (generally) hides under the bed- today he wasn't there- so went looking for him- good thing this one is mine---that turkey figured out how to open the door- & seems to think i created a personal hamock just for him!
he sure looked (cozy!)

That is so funny/cute. I don't have a cat, but I sure think they do cute, cute things.

nativetexan 06-17-2012 08:18 AM

great pic!! my cats will open the folding door to my sewing room easily, so i put a gallon jug of distilled water in front of it. found it one day leaking all over the carpet. seems those jugs leak over time! i had to find something else heavy to put in front of that door that they can't move.

jcrow 06-17-2012 08:23 AM

That quilt looks beautiful. Is it batiks? And I love a white cat! My cat is 17 years old, too old to jump up on anything. I kind of miss my cat getting into trouble.

mighty 06-17-2012 08:31 AM

What a cuttie!!! Beautiful work on the frame!!!!

Raggiemom 06-17-2012 08:34 AM

Pretty quilt--and cat! Mine would do that too if I had a long arm. As it is, they're positive every quilt I make is theirs.

Skittl1321 06-17-2012 08:35 AM

That's fantastic!

My dog recently decided the best place to lay was under my sewing machine- on top of my foot. It really makes getting the pressure on the foot pedal difficult!

Scissor Queen 06-17-2012 08:37 AM

When I had a longarm I had two cats that thought it made the bestest kitty hammock ever. I got a large plastic drop cloth and draped over the whole thing and they left it alone since they didn't like the plastic.

auntpiggylpn 06-17-2012 08:39 AM

Awww! He is beautiful! He looks just like my Lily Pie(check out my Avatar). I don't usually let her lie on my fabrics. I made a basket just for her in my sewing room. I don't know why she choose to get on the shelf this particular day. They love to be close to the fabrics don't they!

must be the day for hammock sitting....This is where i found my furbaby this morning...I will say that she puts just the right amount of looseness in the quilt for quilting!!!

moral of the story: don't vacuum ;-)

Well, why not? If I were his size, I'd probably be there too!

Nanaquilts44 06-17-2012 11:33 AM

Oh he does look comfy!

susie-susie-susie 06-17-2012 11:39 AM

My kitty is 17 years old too, and she can jump on anything. She thinks she is a kitten. Love your baby and the quilt on the long arm is very nice. I love batiks.

I love the look on his face. As if to say, "You got a problem with this?"

If my cat does not lie on one of my quilts, I think there is a problem. Every quilt gets a kitty inpection and the paw of approval.

What would we do without our furbabies and quilt inspectors.....

In the case of my cat(s) - a lot less clean-up!!!

My white cat - now gone - was also a handsome boy like your 'cat in a hammock'

burchquilts 06-17-2012 10:45 PM

I'm sorry... I don't have kitties but aren't those machines you bought & then string fabric on hammocks for them? I was always under that impression... LOL! It's their world & they just let us live in it... LOL! Too, too cute -- each & every one of them!

TeresaS 06-17-2012 10:50 PM

Lol. Smart kitty

Mary O 06-18-2012 02:41 AM

dd55 06-18-2012 06:07 AM

what a cutie. looks right at home.

cmw0829 06-18-2012 06:23 AM

There's something about fabric and cats. One of mine will find any fabric to lay on. And if she can't get her whole body on the fabric, a few paws on the edge will do. Surprisingly, I found the other cat - who hasn't previously demonstrated a liking of fabric - laying on a folded up quilt in progress. Wow, was she indignant when shooed off.

BuzzinBumble 06-18-2012 06:32 AM

Thanks for the morning chuckles! It is clear that cats know cozy when they see it!

wolph33 06-18-2012 06:53 AM

lol-so cute.he knows a cozy place when he sees it.

quilter68 06-18-2012 06:55 AM

I have two ginger-haired sibling kitties. They like every piece of fabric they can find. Even my ironing board. I do enjoy them. When they get to be too much, I let them play in the garage. They love it.
They and all cats do not like citrus so in the spare bedroom is a citrus room deodorizer.

justflyingin 06-18-2012 07:05 AM

I think it is sweet and probably if I had one, they'd do the same thing.

katieranch 06-18-2012 07:06 AM

I didn't take a picture but my cats do the same thing...I spent as much time taking the cat fur off as I did quilting. Now, I pin large trash bags across the quilt for them to lay on...they are happy and so am I!

annthreecats 06-18-2012 07:15 AM

How cute, to see you cat find his own hammock. Love it.

I quilt on my DSM and my kitties have to be there for every stitch. While I was quilting the edge of a quilt on all sides, my cat, Taffy, laid smack in the middle of the quilt napping while I moved it around in a circle. She was so cute and so trusting. I do have to shoo them away when they get too close to the machine or start clawing at my project.

Grace MooreLinker 06-18-2012 07:21 AM

They are true pals, mine would lay on the end of my sewing machine onwhat ever I was sewing to watch the process. sometimes he would get mouthy when I move all the fabric out from under him. love them

QuiltingKrazy 06-18-2012 07:24 AM

Haven't figured out why cats run and hide from vacuums and the dogs aren't bothered by it!

llong0233 06-18-2012 08:02 AM

He looks beautiful against the brilliant colors of your quilt! He's a great guy; handsome and smart.

My two and my DD's two that I dog-sit hate the vacuum The biggest is the same size as a small pony-------but all are scared to death of noise.

My next dog----------will learn to be vacuumed and will also learn to love regular baths. 2 are white, one is gray-----------but they are light "dirt" colored now. Like some other critters, they are digging up the yard looking for cool dirt-----------and moles.

karate lady 06-18-2012 08:57 AM

what is it about cats and quilts??? I don't care where she is, the minute I lay out my quilting, there she is curled up on the first piece she can get to. LOL...Happens every time. Good thing I de-lint and wash everything I make.

bibi 06-18-2012 09:40 AM

What a darling cat and quilt (hammock).

nstitches4u 06-18-2012 10:47 AM

My Ragdoll kitty did the same thing when I had my mid-arm machine and quilting table. It makes it a little difficult to keep the quilt tight in the frame. lol

Andy thinks everything in our house is here solely for his comfort! You gotta love 'em! You have a cute kitty. Does he have blue eyes?

CAS49OR 06-18-2012 01:08 PM

So sweet, they like to be where Mommy has been!
