I would like to make a couple of sofa quilts. I have a cute little pug that lives in our house and up until 9 months ago had a cat that lived in the house. Well, you know how they like to lay across the top of the furniture. Anyway, it is hard to get the sofa to feel natural again, and I decided a quilt across the top of the sofa. That way it will be easier to clean on a regular basis.

Now, the question is, how big should a sofa quilt be?

Make it the width of the back of your sofa. That's the advantage of making your own quilt. You can customize it to your needs.

I make my sofa quilts twin sized so if my DH lays down he can cover up from chin to feet (60x80)

Mine are as wide as the sofa and long enough to hang down several inches on the back and below the seat.

As big as you need to cover the area you would like to protect :D:D:D

I would love to make a sofa cover, but one of my darling fur babies, a 80 lb. golden doesn't like anything on the couch. So she takes every thing off it...it is a leather couch so it is ok, I guess....weird animals...
