Solid Jelly Rolls
 

Hi....hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.

I have two solid Robert Kaufmann jelly rolls...one in rainbow colors and one in medium colors and was wondering what pattern I can use for them that would show them up the best. I have been looking at jelly roll patterns and think I might end up with a boring quilt. Was wondering if I should use a print jelly roll with them....any ideas would be great.

I would probably use them with a panel that you can cut up, like a children's soft book. Use your 2.5" strips for borders around the blocks.

I love this log cabin and hope to make one similar someday. The white side sort of tones down the abundance of color on the other side.

i dont think it would be boring pick an interesting pattern and go for it.

Set them in a black background like Kona black and go Amish but choose any pattern you like.

Missouri Star Quilt Co. had a tutorial on a star using jelly rolls. It was SO MUCH fun to make and really striking. I used bright colors on a black background.

In her book "City Quilts" by Cherri House, she provides patterns that use only solids. A lot of the pics are in deep dark colors, but in the book there are some lighter ones, too. Maybe google her name and see some of her work...
