Squeaky walking foot

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to stop a squeak in my walking foot? Grease, oil? Nothing? They all squeak? It is driving me nuts and I can't tell where it is coming from. I know they make a clacking sound, like a train on tracks, but the squeak is reminiscent of a bearing going out. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It needs oil just like any metal rubbing metal.

I had a squeak that was really bad. I oiled everything I could and finally took it in. The repairman said a thread was stuck somewhere in the back. When it was removed, all was quiet again!

I do oil mine occasionally when they start to squeak. Tri-Flow is a great product.

I used a Q-tip with a little sewing machine oil to oil the rolling part on the top of the foot. Make sure it is just a little so that it doesn't get onto the fabric. If that doesn't stop the squeak, oil both sides of the ankle joint on the foot.

Thanks everyone! I'll oil the foot before I resume sewing today. Maybe I won't go deaf after sewing now! :)
