Can someone explain the process of those stack n whacks to me? I am as always a day late to the prom and this is a completely newprocess for me. I love the quilts that have been posted and think they are gorgeous and I think I'd like to try one, but the tutorials I've seen don't really show me how one "stacks n whacks" and comes out with those beautiful blocks.

Type Stack and Whack quilts in your Google and you will find the directions or look for the book.

The best thing to do is buy a book then take a class if you can. They are not hard to make but I loved the class, it was so helpful.

Linda, I checked on google and found www.connectingthreads.com had a great tutorial on the making of Stack and Whack pieces. She explains it very well and the tutorial lasts 8 minutes so she is not rushing you.

Try it. Lots of fun things to make this way, and can be made with 4, 6, or 8 pieces and each one is different, just like a kaleidoscope.

cutiebuns did a good tutorial on the OBW -- similar to stack & whack - but it's all hexagons.

I would buy a book to help you. I know that I go back to mine each time I make one to get the order done correctly. It will also have different patterns for you to try.

The theory is the same, you may need more or less of the repeats is all, depending on how many pieces you need for your blocks :D:D:D

Is stack n whack the same as OBW? Just the setting is different?
