Starch/iron Flannel for Runners??????

Okay, great quilters here, I am going to used cotton flannel to make runners for Christmas presents. My question is, if I have already washed the flannel, is ironed and starched the best way to prepare the fabric? I am pretty sure that is the way that I need to go but need your help. Thank you for your ideas.

I wash, starch, and iron my flannel before cutting for quilts and projects.

Wash, starch and iron would be what I would do too.

I always wash and iron with starch my flannel, too.

I agree with the above. I always wash only my flannel.
