Steady Betty
I attended the Puyallup Sewing Expo and saw the Steady Betty demonstrated. There were 100s of vendors and Steady Betty was sold out. Can someone tell me what you think of it? Thanks.

What or who is steady Betty. Please.

It's a pressing tool. I'd like to know more about it and where to purchase one.

here's a link to their website http://www.steadybetty.com/
i've never used one |
I have one and would prolly NOT buy it again. I do not distort pressing blocks.

I probably would not purchase one. I prefer a TV tray covered with 2 layers of thick batting then cotton canvas stretched over the top and stapled to the bottom. I sit it beside the sewing machine here at home and take it when I go to different groups to sew. I am very careful to "press" not iron when pressing seams. I prefer to press as I go most of the time.

I have one and use it all the time. I know they seem expensive but my blocks are much better than before.. I agree with Retired Quilter that they work especially well on small blocks.

I love mine!!!!! I use it all the time. It makes all the difference in the world. The (for instance) triangle doesn't move a spec when I press it open. It doesn't distort at ALL!!!!! It is such a great gift I bought myself. Steady Betty makes many items besides the pressing board now. I have most of their items. They are all wonderful!

I don't know how new this product is but I have a quilt coming up with lots of triangles in it. For those following this thread, one reply gives the website for this product. I think I need this and have to order online. I haven't seen it in our local stores.
Thanks all. |
