The lady at our sewing machine store mentioned "sticky back stabiler" for small embrodery areas. I dont recall ever seeing any at JAs, with the stabilizers. Would it be in another area?
Does anyone use this, and know where to buy it? I dont buy on line much, no credit card. Thanks in advance? |
the most popular brand is Sulky, comes in a tube or small bag. I know Hancock's Fabric carries it

Thanks Kathy! We dont have a Hancocks anymore. I wonder if Hobby Lobbymight carry it? At least you gave me a name, thanks!

At my Jo Ann's its hanging ( pre- packaged) in the notions section.
|
another one is called hydro stick, it is activated with water instead of being a peel and stick, I find it works well with knits as well as small work
http://www.johnsolomon.com/hydro.htm you can see if it is sold in your area |
JoAnn's should have it with all the other Sulky stabilizers.
|
I used Sulky iron on with very good results.

The idea with the sticky stabilizer is that you hoop the stabilizer and stick the project to the stabilizer it is handy when you are embroidering on a hard to hoop item, or something that is to small, or in the wrong place, like the corners of napkins, and then to save on stabilizer if you are doing multiples you can patch it and carry on, you don't need to use a whole new piece

I have bought it at Joann's, too. It is in a tube and hanging with the other stabilizers in the notions area. Here is a picture of the tubes. The sticky one is green and called Sticky +. If you read the package it will say something like sticky or adhesive tear away stabilizer. :) It's great!

Thanks so much, everyone! I was looking in the wrong area, I think ourJAs DOES have it!
