Starch can make fabric stiff!

When I was making fabric bows for Easter Baskets (years ago) I would use some fabric stiffner by Ailene.( forgive spelling). It was either in a can or bottle, sorry just can't remember. But I would find it in the craft section at the stores.

Iron on heavy weight interfacing.

Go to either Joan's or Hancock's and ask the clerks about the interfacing they have. That will give you a wide choice. And, you can feel how stiff each is. Ask if after washing will the product soften up.

That is my suggestion also.

Yes, I also agree to go look at the interfacing sold in any of the chain store. Of you want it stiff as a board, how about mounting on it onto the lightweight cord board.

I'd just make sure the hanger was solid and wouldn't let the hanging get too out of place.
