When you stitch in the ditch do you start at one side going down the side or do you start at the top middle going down the middle of the quilt? I hope I explained that well enough. haha
Thanks

I always start at the top/middle of the project. I make totes and discovered if I do that, it works out any problems as I move to the right....hope I made myself clear here, too!

I usually start from the middle and work my way out. I do one row from the top down and the next from the bottom up. The most important thing for me is making sure the quilt is well anchored with basting spray or pins.

Thanks, will start at middle top.
I had already started stippling the quilt and am NOT satsified with it. Hubby said he would take it anyway he can get it so I'm going to try to SID. Not even going to rip out the stippling part. It won't be pretty.
This will be the first one i'm keeping in this house except a baby quilt and it's meant for the couch. I guess I can't do too much more damage. :)
I'm hoping to get this done by the end of the week and start my Christmas projects. I also want to make a few wall/door hangings, i.e. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Reason why stippling didn't work out is because it became to difficult to maneuver in such a small space. Time to upgrade my machine!

I start at side middle (i.e., shorter length before longer one). It just seems more manageable doing the shorter ones first to get it anchored. After doing the side middle row, I work over towards the top, then go back to the middle and work towards the bottom. Then do top to bottom in same way from middle outwards.

i do what eddie does

Yep, middle and top. That way you go one direction to one side and the opposite direction for the other side. The quilt won't get skewed that way.
