Have any of you heard of this pattern? I saw a quilt at a quilt show using this pattern, they used 2-1/2" strips. I have googled it but couldn't locate. I talked to a lady that made it, she said she had taken a class and made it. I have tried several spellings, she said it was spelled stix and stax.

Strip Stacks, maybe? Try this link and see if you recognize it.

I saw a free pattern of this online somewhere. Let me check to see if I saved it.

That pattern is by one of my favorite quilt pattern designers, Gudrun Erla. Here's a link to her blog which shows some of her patterns:

Scroll half way down to see the one you like!

I bought a book of her patterns, but I'm not sure if the one you like is in it. I really like her work!

I enjoyed looking at her blog. I love all those quilt patterns. I like to work with strips. They look difficult, but, they are really simple.
