Hi Gayle Got names or addresses you came up with>none I googled appear to be too close to the convention center. I can tell you they have a great Mongolian Grill up the road before the areana. I hope you are staying at the Dury. wee have and have always enjoyed it. They have the most unique pool...part inside/part outside..you swim under the glass wall and then you are outside. Anyways, there is a good one north of downtown, just south of Grandville/dublin rd. I am not sure if there are anyother ones besides JoAnn's by Polaris. Now that is the ultimate in shopping. It is north of Columbus, just off of RT71. There is every store you can think of and place to eat. It is clean and safer than some of the other areas. Please be careful about any area off of N. High between there and the Fairgrounds near 71. can be ruff. Have a great time.

My favorite is Quilt Beginnings on East Broad St. Really nice staff there. Its not as far from the Convention Center as you might think and the drive is mostly pleasant and pretty direct. You will NOT be able to make turns at Broad and High streets though! And many streets downtown are one way!! For plain old shopping, Polaris has everything. If you have money to burn, go to Easton  Its very interesting if nothing else! Have a good time.

I also like Quilt Beginnings. They have a wonderful selection of fabric and great patterns and books. Enjoy NQA. I'm going on Thurs.

The Glass Thimble is 1.15 miles from where you are staying. Nice selection, super nice owners (Justine and Jamie), reasonable prices. It's at 3434 North High St. Go .3 miles north on Olentangy River Road (where the hotel is), turn right on West North Broadway and go .8 miles. Turn left on High Street, and the Glass Thimble - an old house, is I think the second building. Go past it and turn right into the driveway and right at the alley. Parking and entrance are in the back of the building.
Check out their website:

Make sure you explore all the little rooms!
