LOL - If we don't sew during storms in Florida we'd never sw. During lightning however I would pass unless you have a high quality surge protector power strip that offers replacement of toasted items or the surge protector placed on your meter by the power company.
Same for here in Alabama. Almost everything in my house is plugged in to surge protectors.Quote:

I sew as long as no lightening causing 'brown-outs'. Those are the little flickers we experience here in the country quite often. This is the main reason I want a treadle that works. I also have an expensive surge protector on my machine.

My sister just lost some very expensive items that were on a top of the line surge protector in a bad storm.. I have too much $$ tied up to risk it . My sisters recent experience changed my habits .. I used to think if Iwas on a surge protector everythng was fine.
