I'm thinking of buying a strip cutter. I have the Accuquilt Go and thought about buying the 2 1/2" strip cutter, but at 75 it seems expensive. I noticed in a online ad for Joann's that there is a Donna Dewberry 12" cutter for around 54. Has anyone bought this & do you like it...or don't like it? Can you fold the fabric to get a decent length? I have read about a Fiskars 24" strip cutter, but was told that it has been discontinued. Is that true? I have a gift card for Joann's. Should I apply it towards the Accuquilt strip cutter or the Donna Dewberry?

If you want to do it yourself here is a great ruler: http://store.junetailor.com/store/p-...cut-ruler.aspx

If you want accurate every time get the dies for you Accuquilt.

Thanks for answering. I checked out your link and I guess I'll buy the Accuquilt die. I think your comment of "accurate every time" was my deciding point. I was hoping that the Donna Dewberry cutter might be accurate.

I love my accuquilt strip cutter. Makes it a piece of cake and all are even. No ruler slipping. I am saving up for the 3 1/2 die. I have the 1.5, 2.5, hearts and rag quilt die. Definitely worth the time you save.

Amazon has the 2.5" strip cutter for $50 with free shipping if you have Amazon prime:

eBay has similar deals.

I have two strip cutters for the Accuquilt and I love them. You can fold the material and really come out with long strips which is great for quilt to go or binding. Most of the time I can find quilt shops putting them on sale for 20% off but you can also look on Ebay. Once cutting them into strips you can lay them sideways and cut rectangles or squares, etc. Accuquilt also stands behind what they sell. I've had them to replace two rag quilt cutters and I got the new one each time in less than a week.

I've been able to purchase my strip dies and others dies from Joann's with a printed out copy of prices from quilting warehouse and Joann's will match their prices.

Fabric Depot has accuquilt dies on sale. Here's the link for one of the strip cutters http://www.fabricdepot.com/index.php...&pageid=172111 :)

It is accurate; just make sure you keep the grain right so that it doesn't stretch when you roll it thru. You will love it and it makes life so much easier and you can get to the quilting alot faster using it to do the cutting.

If you already have the Go it makes sense to get the strip die cutter for it. You can find lower prices at accucutquilt group on Yahoo. Most all the Go reps post their sales there.
