It seems that strip piecing used to be so popular and now a lot of the same patterns are done using pieces cut with the cutting machines like the Go. Isn't strip piecing still easier and faster? Thanks.

I'm to cheap (frugal?) to splurge on the GO!
For me, I use the June Taylor ruler for cutting strips. It's 12"x12" with slots every 1/2". You just run your rotary cutter down the slot for the width you want and presto !, strips! If you want more than 1 strip, just leave the ruler in place and cut every 1 1/2" or 2" or 4", whatever. Goes pretty fast. I had all the strips for my Bargello cut in about 15 minutes. |
