I am making a top that has cream, red and green in it. Should I use cream or grey to piece it together?

can you post a pic so we can access it better?

Either color is a neutral. I generally use what I have and when I run out of one color, I use the other. You won't see the thread from the piecing. It's only in the quilting where it shows.

I would go with gray.

I agree, I usually use a light grey or cream for piecing, but your threads will not show so sometimes I just use up whatever I have the most of and finish off my half full bobbins no matter what color.

I use light gray to piece light colors. The cream would work too. It's us to you.

I use a darker version of the color fabric, or if it is light I use a purple gray color.
