Suggestions on new sewing machine chair
 

I just purchased a new Baby Lock Grace and cabnet! Now need a comfortable chair. I have back issues, (mostly because of sitting too long at my machine and golf) want something maybe mesh with wheels and no arms. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Sounds like you have the right criteria, no arms and mesh for circulation. Also make sure it is on wheels and rotates. The first thing to go on these type of 'office chairs' is the height adjustment, so make sure it is a well made one.

I have a Steelcase Cachet, but they are pretty pricy! Great chair and I can lift it in the car for retreats. Can't sit for hours on those folding chairs!

Just like when buying our machines ... go to the store and test drive the possible chairs!
Adjustable typewriter or drafting chairs are usually good for sewing.
(the drafting lowest setting is the highest of the typewriter)

I got my last one at Staples, and took it home, with the full agreement it could be returned if it just was not "right".

Another consideration ... how wide is the chair and the base ... will it slide into the hole of your sewing desk/table when you are not using it.

I love my Swopper. It now comes on wheels too. Yes, it's pricey but well worth it IMHO, at least for me. My back doesn't tire and I can keep sewing as long as I want without problems.

When you are searching, remember: You do not have to put the arms on the chair as you assemble it. I received a couple of office chairs that would not fit in my sewing area until I took the arms off.

Mine also came from staples. You need to go somewhere with a large selection and take the time to sit in them to find the one that is the best fit for your body. My chair has made a huge difference in how long I can sit and sew without back pain.

I went to the office supply and sat in every chair and found the most comfortable one and bought it.
