I am working on a Grandmother's Flower Garden, which uses hexagons. I am doing it by hand using the English Paper Piecing method. I started this project to have hand work to take with me whenever we travel.

And, the patterns are what you would call "period specific". I have made a few from this book, and every once in a while make another block for the sampler.

I've been working on a sampler using 1930s fabrics; it will be finished someday. Here is a baby quilt I made a few years ago. |
There is an adorable 30's prints quilt in the package of templates of Winner's Bouquet by Atkinson Designs. My DSIL bought me the set for my birthday, and I ordered some really neat FQ's from Connecting Threads. Some of the FQs were only 62 cents in their reduced section! Score!
I can't wait to make that quilt ... just have to get brave enough to try curves. |

I'll have to drag out my work-in-progress 30's quilt and take a picture. I am so in love with it and I don't know why I haven't finished it. It's just small half square triangles (white & 30's print) and it's so colorful and fun. |
