I am in need of some bobbin thread. I had a large very inexpensive cone of white bobbin thread and it was very linty. I can't believe it, but it's almost gone. I think I had it for 2 years.

I now like kind of bobbin thread that has little or no lint. I have tried the bottom line by Superior and I like it. Have you tried any other brand that is less expensive. I want to get a couple of large cones (a black and a white) to do me over the next year or so.

Also, where is the best deal on bobbin thread.

Thanks for your help.

I found this: http://www.thesewphisticatedstitcher...u60poboth.html

Madiera is a good thread brand and that's one big cone!

I like very thin bobbin thread and ordered this:

Thank-you for the great link-some good deals on thread.
Speaking of threads: while at joannes yesterday I saw cones of segar thread for a dollar can this be used for regular sewing?...I was thinking maybe bobbin thread..

I haven"t pieced with it but I do quilt with the Signature brand, someone told me it would be too weak but it's a polyester and very tough, just looking at it I thought it would be linty but it isn't bad. I just don't know what quality you'd get for a dollar.
I mostly use Bottomline for bobbin because its 60 wt.

Signature is better quality then MaxiLoc from what I have read, Maxi Loc is linty. I know many quilters that use Signature serger thread for machine quilting. One quilter in my guild uses it for hand piecing. She says it doesn't twist or knot up.

I believe that nothing beats The Bottom Line. It also lasts forever.

I would not consider using any other thread in my bobbin than Superior Threads' Bottom Line.
My Bernina also takes it as a top thread.
Jems don't take on top if it's in the bobbin, so I use Aurifil 50wt or Masterpiece 50wt.

I found Bottom Line and King Tut at kenquilt.com for great prices! King Tut was $18.50/2000 yd. and Bottom Line was $10.00/3000 yd.
