Table runner question

I am making a table runner for a friend. I am not sure of the size of her table. I just know that it is long. I think it seats 8. What size table runner would you suggest?
Thanks

Dining chairs are 20-22" wide. If you allow 24" per person, then you would need at least a 6' table to seat 8 people, 3 on each side and one on each end. So, you would probably want a table runner to be between 4 and 5 ' long.

What is a good width? I know her table is much wider than mine.

Is it going to be for show or when people are sitting at the table with place settings/placemats? I usually do my table runner widths at about 14 to 16 inches. The length I like to be about 3 times the width.

I managed to get it finished this afternoon! It ended up being WOF and about 15 inches wide. I am happy with it, hope my friend will be too!

I think it looks great. If I were your friend I would love having it.

This looks like the "ten minute runner" am I right? I love table runners and have about 38 of them? Well, I try to not go over the edge with runners and tend to make mine wider than the average. I usually find panels and make them into runners. Now that shows how cheap I am doesn't it? your runner is great!
