Templates and triangles help!
1 Attachment(s)
I am working on a "Rocky Road to Kansas" quilt. It is my first time using templates and I'm really struggling to get the points of the triangles to work properly. How do I get the block to end up so I have a 1/4" leftover on the points??? I have tried marking a 1/4" seam on the triangles but that doesn't seem to help. Since the triangles are all different angles I'm not sure if I'm doing it right...

This may look differently after it's been trimmed but right now it looks rectangular to me. The upper white piece looks like it's not wide enough. I did a similar pattern and I used paper guides. Not paper pieced, but I sewed the strips to the paper. That way when I trimmed from the back side I was sure of my size.

go back and check the pattern/templates/cutting/sewing.
Something isn't right in the measurements. |
Here is tute for this pattern from here on QB. She also mentions and has a picture of the "too short" block.
