theraputic support gloves

Does anyone use a theraputic support glove when sewing? I am experiencing severe pain from tendinitis (sp) and am currently using a brace. I have been doing some research and have found a glove from Handeze brand that claims to be "wonderful". Has anyonel used it/or something of its kind? Would sure hate to have to quit quilting!!

I suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis which is a form of Rheumatoid arthritis. It affects several joints in my body. My finger joints and wrists are greatly aggravated when I am quilting. I do wear theraputic gloves when I am working on something. Plus, I am allergic to the chemicals in the fabrics and such which causes my palms to itch like crazy and triggers a psoriasis out break. The gloves help reduce the strain on my fingers and wrists plus my palms are protected.

I have RA in my hands and fingers. When it is in it's mild form I wear compression gloves which really help. When it is bad and have to wear a brace not so much sewing time!

I found that these gloves magic is that it keeps the wrist and hand warm and in turn keeps the blood flowing better. I forget to wear mine, but the did help.

What great info! I, too, have been thinking about getting a pair. I am glad I am not the only one getting "older."

I wear some when I have to play the piano a lot. They help me avoid pain.

Just last night I was reading a hand-quilting tutorial by Tonya Ricucci of The Unruly Quilter at http://www.unrulyquilter.com/tutoria...ed-to-you.html. She discusses the gloves she uses, called Thergonomic Hand-Aids. A Google search turned up several sources. I might give them a try.

In lieu of therapeutic gloves, you can use the cuffs from a pair of spandex/woolen socks, they stay snug around the wrist and keeps them warm.

I have RA as well. My wrists are what bothers me the most.
I use the creative comfort (bright green) wrist supports sold at Joanns.
I had tendonitis several years back too. It was the cortizone shots and
prednizone that helped relieve it.
