The EZ Dresden Ruler lets you cut blades for different sizes.
On the Quilt in a Day website http://quiltinaday.com/theater/library.html you can watch a video on Dresden Plates. It's under Egg Money Quilts. There is also a good video on Missouri Star Quilt Company http://tutorials.missouriquiltco.com/ It is under Introduction to Quilting. |
There are different sizes and shapes of the dresden block-I can send you a great pattern (e-mailed) I made a number of years ago and posted a pic of it on this board a few months ago. It isn't hard-I simply made the template out of clear plastic. PM me if you need a pattern. The blocks finish at 12 3/4" and the finished quilt measures 67 3/4" square. It does have some border applique, but that could be optional if you just want a plain border.

Here's a link to my post on the Dresden Plate I've been working on the past couple of weeks.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-89035-1.htm This is my first Dresden Plate also...I'm finding I really like the template and method that I'm using so far. (There are links in my post to both.) Can't wait to see pics of yours too! |
Some of the blades will be pointed, some squared off and then you stitch them to make the points before sewing them together...
Some are made with a hole in the center for a round center piece, others are sewn without... :D:D:D |
thanks everyone for the information i am watching some little how to videos and reading how to links all informations is welcomed
