that would have the border like on this quilt?
http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...ay.asp?i=15684 I'd like to try something like that on a quilt. |
See if it looks like the "curling ribbon" if you use red and blue.
Looks like it to me. http://www.quilterscache.com/B/Borders.html Great site for free patterns of all kinds! |

Yes that is the same pattern as in Victory Quilts. It is quarter triangles attached to a triangles. The book uses 5 1/2 inch squares with an X drawn on the back of 2 fabrics facing each other. You make a 1/4 inch jog in the center as you sew on each side of the line. Hard to explain but you end up with 4 quarter triangles. Red on one side and white on the other then you add the blue triangle that is cut from a 5 inch square cut in half. This is for a ribbon border for 12 inch squares with 3 inch lattice.
Using twenty 12 in blocks. I love the book and have started doing the 6 inch blocks, they are so cute. quilters catch turns out the same just a bit more difficult to make. |
whats a jog?
i only know this term in running not in quilting |
