See if it looks like the "curling ribbon" if you use red and blue.

the pic isn't that big but it looks like curling ribbons to me.

Yes that is the same pattern as in Victory Quilts. It is quarter triangles attached to a triangles. The book uses 5 1/2 inch squares with an X drawn on the back of 2 fabrics facing each other. You make a 1/4 inch jog in the center as you sew on each side of the line. Hard to explain but you end up with 4 quarter triangles. Red on one side and white on the other then you add the blue triangle that is cut from a 5 inch square cut in half. This is for a ribbon border for 12 inch squares with 3 inch lattice.
Using twenty 12 in blocks.
I love the book and have started doing the 6 inch blocks, they are so cute.
quilters catch turns out the same just a bit more difficult to make.
